The Connection Team brings people together. From greeting us warmly when we arrive to helping us connect in small groups where we can get to know God and one another better, the Connection Team encourages relationships that change our lives. If bringing people closer together is your passion, this is the team for you!
Connection Team Director
Coordinate the work of the connection team, assist with recruitment of team members, develop the team, and give care to team members. The Connection Team Director is Brookwood’s champion for volunteer development and the guardian of the connection process which should be considered our critical path. Helpful qualities may include: organization, ability to delegate, hospitality, people-orientation, the ability to develop others, and a passion for making disciples.
Connection Point Coordinator
Develop materials and information for Connection Point volunteers. Recruit, train and schedule volunteers to staff the Connection Point and serve as greeters. Helpful qualities may include: organization, encouragement.
Greeters
Welcome people at the door in a friendly and genuine manner before each service. Point out Connection Point area for additional help or information. Helpful qualities may include: proactive, friendly, consistency.
Connection Point Volunteer
Notice when people need information, help them find other people to form relationships based on common areas of interest, and point out opportunities to grow without exceeding the persons’ comfort level. Helpful qualities may include: proactive, good listener, sensitive, comfortable with people.
10:31 Coordinator
Coordinate 10:31 events with staff, generate ideas for future 10:31 activities and recruit 10:31 volunteers to lead particular 10:31 events on a periodic basis. Helpful qualities include creativity, positivity and an ability to recruit.
10:31 Team
10:31 is a periodic gathering that happens between the worship services to bring Brookwood people together. Helpful qualities include hospitality, planning ability and an ability to network people.
Care Coordinator
Develop a system emphasizing the role of small groups for caring for attendees and members arriving at Brookwood and experiencing crisis or transition. Recruit and train Care Callers, Starting Point Hosts and the Membership Interview Team. The Care Coordinator is not responsible for pastoral counseling or support group ministries. Helpful qualities may include compassion, organization and fairness.
Care Callers
Make phone calls in four categories: first time visitors, new regular attendees, members and regular attendees (annually), and those who stop attending. Make appropriate contact assignments to Directors and Coordinators. Helpful qualities may include a pleasant telephone voice and organization.
Starting Point Hosts
Assist with the hosting and implementation of Starting Point including but not limited to name tags, materials, lunch, refreshment and sign ups. Helpful qualities may include hospitality and organization.
Membership Interview Team
Interview those who have completed membership applications and make a recommendation to the Church concerning the appropriateness of their application.
Volunteer Development Coordinator
Recruit and train volunteers as Connection and Volunteer Development Coaches. Work with Directors to ensure that volunteer job descriptions and the volunteer deployment grid are current and accurate. Develop and implement a system to ensure that every volunteer is contacted by a Director or Coordinator annually to determine the appropriateness of continuing in their position. Ensure that every team has a system for welcoming and equipping volunteers.
Connection Coach
Work with individuals to help people establish spiritual goals, make connections with Brookwooders and the community, and find an area of ministry where he or she can glorify God. Helpful qualities may include: listening well, relating well with people, seeing connections and sensitivity.
Volunteer Development Coach
Work with individuals who have completed Connection Coaching as they make a match with a volunteering position. Work with Directors and Coordinators to ensure that appropriate introductions and training are provided for the selected position. Follow up within three months to ensure that the match is a good one.
Small Groups Coordinator
Recruit and train individuals and couples willing to lead small groups. Coach and encourage small group leaders. Connect small groups with materials and support. Helpful qualities may include: organization, encouragement, big picture oriented.
Small Groups Administrator
Maintain a complete and current list of small groups and provide this information to the Connection Coach Coordinator and the Connection Point Coordinator. As attendees request a match with a group, provide their name to small group leaders and ensure that small group leaders follow up until a match is made. Maintain complete and current rolls of each small group.
Small Group Leaders
Shepherd 8-12 people and help them become extraordinary followers of Jesus by pursuing their spiritual goals, applying biblical principals to life, finding community together, serving, and reaching out. Helpful qualities may include: hospitality, encouragement, desire to learn and apply Biblical principals, wisdom, teaching.
