The Student Ministry Team exists to ensure students between grades six and twelve are provided with opportunities to become extraordinary followers of Jesus. Designed to present God’s Story and nurture students’ role within it, this well-organized team invites students and their families to connect with God, one another and the community on a deeper level.

Student Ministry Team Coordinator

Plan weekly Student Ministry gatherings, actively recruit new volunteers, give announcements, help promote upcoming events and be in constant communication with Student Ministry Director and Administrator. Helpful qualities include: ability to delegate, ability to develop others, creativity, organization and accountability.

Administrator

Facilitate attendance, develop student ministry materials, collect permission slips and money for trips or events, ensure that student ministry’s volunteering standards are met and oversee student ministry communications. Helpful qualities include: organization, creativity, attention to detail and ability to delegate.

Teacher

Teach the Sunday morning small group on a rotating basis, leading dialogue and encouraging student participation. Develop teaching illustrations to supplement curriculum. Helpful qualities include: adaptability, enthusiasm and limited public speaking skills.

Event Planner

Plan monthly large-group events, both generating ideas and planning logistics such as event cost, transportation arrangements and setting deadlines. Communicate this information to the rest of the student ministry team. Helpful qualities include: creativity, organization, ability to delegate and previous experience in service learning/events/missions.

Shepherd

Be present at student ministry activities to spend time with and get to know students. Welcome and introduce newcomers. Encourage inclusion and participation of all students. Helpful qualities include: outgoing, hospitality, passion for students, enthusiasm and encouragement.

Small Group Leader

Lead regional small group of students on a weekly basis. Guide students in practice of spiritual disciplines and a deepening relationship with God, one another and the community. Helpful qualities include: discipline, hospitality, encouragement and ability to develop others.
